Gastric Cancer Symptoms
It is not a known fact for many that gastric cancer is as common as other form of cancers and for some they don't even know the existence of such a cancer. This leads to the negligence in detecting the symptoms of gastric cancer.
Gastric cancer has become one of the most common cancers and cause of high mortality among men and women. As in other cancers, earlier detection of gastric cancer helps for better curative intervention. Unfortunately people come for diagnosis only at an advanced stage. In advanced stage the malignancy has spread to other organs. Instead of taking curative treatment the patients have to undergo the treatment for containment of the cancer. This advanced stage requires surgical removal of tumor site and treatment through chemotherapy.
Symptoms
Loss of weight and reduced appetite merits a close watch. Gastric cancer is most common in men than women. Those who are smoking and consuming drink and having a family history of this form of cancer should get themselves diagnosed. In most cases endoscope is recommended.
Gastric cancer has become a common malignancy and early detection could avoid the surgery and has chances of curative intervention.
