 Dry skin causes and treatments

 

Dry skin can be nourished to become a beautiful skin by knowing the causes and taking dry skin treatment. Sebum is the natural oil produced by the skin glands. Dry skin is so called because it is deprived of this natural oil. Dry skin has parched look and it cannot hold moisture. Those who have dry skin feel tight when washed. Chapping and cracking are also some signs shown dry skin.

 

Nature also has its impact on the skin. Dry wind, high or low temperature take away the natural moisture. This lack of moisture makes the skin feel tight across the bones. Dry skin makes the look very dull. Dry skin shows near cheeks and the eyes and sometimes show embarrassing flakes. Knees and hands are the other places where you can see dry skin.

 

Causes of dry skin

 

There are many factors that cause dry skin.

  • Lack of sufficient sebum

  • Environmental factors like sun, cosmetics, chemicals, cold, temperature and wind

  • Junk food lacking in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin A & B

  • skin diseases

  • Hypothyroidism and diabetes can also cause dry skin

  • Use of particular drugs

  • Skin needs cleansing and massage. Massage stimulates the sebum production. Your skin will get a lot of moisture and natural oil.

  • Do not use soap as it will remove the natural protective oil.

  • Use a quality and as far as possible natural moisturizer. A good moisturizer will bring back the lost water content to the skin.

  • Use neutral and not acidic or alkaline products for washing the skin. Avoid commercial soaps.

  • After the second cleansing treat the skin with moisturizing cream.

  • After a bath apply baby oil. Massage your skin with homemade remedies recommended by your grandma or a doctor.

  • Every day in the morning treat dry skin with mineral water 

Use beauty dry skin mask two days a week. You can also add egg, half teaspoon of olive oil, one teaspoon of honey and some drops of rose water. Some good brand names are coming with quality CTM products (cleanser, Toner And Moisturizer) to treat and nourish your skin everyday. CTM is available for both dry skin and oil skin. Follow dry skin treatment regularly.  

 

Besides applying skincare products take care on the diet side also. Taking a healthy diet you can avoid using so many skincare products. A good diet also important for overall health. Plan your diet so that it contains enough vitamins and minerals. Add Onion, asparagus, garlic and egg as they help you to have a glowing skin. Avoid, if not, reduce the intake of coffee, tea and alcohol. Avoid junk food and spend some time to home cooking.
