Obesity is a one of the major health problems daunting the people the world over. It is natural to have the desire to be slim and beautiful. Shedding weight is the cause for concern among obese people. There is no doubt that obesity is causing major health problems, from heart disease to diabetes.

The athletes, after the competition is over, gain weight rapidly in the same speed as the lost weight. This cycle of losing and gaining weight rapidly occurs many times in a players career. This frequent change in their weight take them to a more health hazard zone.

Irrespective of your age, losing weight rapidly is dangerous. The youngsters who are still in growing stage this will affect even their growth. Some of the crude methods used are, unsafe pills, forced vomiting, long period of thirsty, inducing higher urine volume and fluid loss, starvation and laxatives. Weight cycling by dehydration and starvation can be devastating.

The consequences are even more dangerous. This cyclic change affects both physical and mental health. Dehydration and the methods used to achieve it can cause

electrolyte disturbances. These disturbances can sometimes be fatal. Renal failure can occur by severe dehydration. Starvation can disturb the hormone status. During starvation the body's vital organs are denied the essential nutrition to function normally and this may lead to irreparable damage to them.

To achieve short term fame don't ignore your long term health and happiness. The guidance for a healthy weight loss for public is no different from the rules of the sportsman. Practice the safe and healthy weight loss methods. During dieting take less calorie food supplements so that your vital organs are not starved of essential nutrition.
