Binge eating
disorder is one of the eating disorders faced by many people
irrespective of their gender, age, race and financial status. The weight
loss disorders like anorexia and bulimia are well known to the people,
but binge eating disease that is sweeping the new generation is not
known to many people. Binge eating will result in many medical disorders
like diabetes, heart problems and many more. In some cases it may cause

Binge eating is
nothing but overeating at its worst. It is not uncommon that everybody
has the tendency to overeat when dining at a restaurant and when we are

frequent dieting without weight loss, hoarding food, hiding empty food
containers and feeling depressed, disgusted or upset over the volume of
food eaten are some of the symptoms which can identify a person as binge
eater.

Binge eaters urge is so worse that they overeat to the extent of feeling
sick. In one sitting they eat thousands of calories. What makes their
overeating worse is that they take in junk food and not nutritional food
or a well balanced diet. Sweet and savory are the hot favorites of the
binge eaters. They would usually have problems with alcohol. Binge
eater's one day consumption is almost equal to the food consumed by a
normal person for a week.
There is a main
difference between the bulimia affected persons and the binge eaters.
Unlike the bulimia, binge eaters won't indulge in vomiting to get rid of
the food they have eaten. This main difference results in overweight
among the binge eaters. In some people the problem is compounded as they
will eat non stop for one full day and starve for the next 3 or 4 days
and do vigorous exercise to maintain their weight at the same possible

Other physical
diseases are also go hand in hand with the binge eating disease. Binge
eaters are also affected mentally and emotionally. They become addict to
the binge eating habit because they take to food as a way to solve their
problems. This is an unhealthy tendency. The overweight makes them more
conscious about their body and emotionally charged them, resulting in
depression.

Make a strong
commitment to overcome this problem. Don't shop for the food you binge
on. While going for shopping prepare a list that doesn't contain your
binge foods and stick to the list. Share your problem with your loved
ones. When you are longing to binge find a substitute and enjoy doing
it. This will divert your mind and enjoying something you like will not
make you feel that you are deprived of something for avoiding bingeing.
These treatment ways are something that you can do and follow with a
firm commitment.
If you are not
able to discipline yourself then drug therapy is the best option. Drug
therapy suits some people. Another binge eating treatment is cognitive
behavioral therapy. This treatment teaches the way to monitor and change
the eating habits. It also teaches the methods on how to respond to
difficult conditions without getting emotionally charged or depressed.
Interpersonal psychotherapy helps to cure the problem areas of their
relationship with family and friends.
Binge eating
disease is not only dangerous to the concerned individual but also
affects the near and dear. Avoid this way of losing weight as it will
result in serious health problems. If you suspect of having the binge
eating problem don't shy to tell your family members. Seek immediate
help from your family members and your doctor to get out of this
problem. Postponing this, your binge eating disorder will push you to a
serious medical condition.
