 Updates

A popular belief is that food allergy is a common cause of asthma. But a recent study has mentioned that food allergy is a less common cause of asthma. Food allergy is rare and in the west only a 2 percent of population has it. The asthmatic reaction to sulphite is  due to unknown mechanisms and not a case of food allergy.

The most common allergen are fish, soy, tree nuts, milk and shellfish. Protein is the common allergen in all these foods. If you are allergic to any food, avoid it for the rest of your life and carry a pre-filled epinephrine syringe to self treat anaphylaxis. It is a must to avoid any fatal result in case of any accidental exposure to food allergy.
