Asperger Syndrome

|
Asperger syndrome affects people in many ways.
It is a relatively mild form of autism. It is an autism spectrum
disorder. It differs from other autism disorders. Most of the people with Asperger
syndrome go undiagnosed as it usually does not affect language. People
affected by Asperger syndrome find difficulties in social interaction.
This disorder is not usually found at an early age. It mostly occurs in the later age in life. It is important to
consult your doctor, on suspicion of someone having this
disorder. It is a very difficult disorder to have, so act immediately
upon seeing any communication and social behavior problems with anyone
in your family.
It is surprise to know that many famous and
successful people were diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. Historians even
suggest that Einstein and Mozart each suffered from this disorder. It is
important to understand that no form of autism is
|
a form of mental
retardation. You can see this as many people with Aspergers Syndrome are
actually very intelligent people.
Asperger Syndrome not affect the mental ability,
but rather people with this disorder find it difficult to communicate in
social settings. It is similar to the way a typical autistic child has
trouble with behavior in groups. If it is not diagnosed, the children
with this disorder will not get help. This will lead to more problems
and the affected children will face problems like bullying in school. A
proper diagnosis will be a great relief to the affected children as they
won't think that they are less of a person. Early detection of the
disorder will help immensely to get proper treatment and to improve the
overall condition.
Asperger Syndrome Symptoms
Some asperger syndrome symptoms are of the same type experienced
by those affected with full blown autism.
-
The main symptom is social confusion.
-
Finding it difficult to deal with any change or
transition. They want everything to stay the same way. They are the
confused lot when there is a quickly changing environment.
-
Some times they talk rude or say inappropriate
things. But you have to understand that they actually do not mean to do
so.
-
Not able to understand the thought process of
others.
-
Another problem is over fixation. In most cases
the Asperger syndrome people are more focused in their interests.
Consult your doctor if you suspect your loved
one to have any of these symptoms. This is not the final list of
symptoms. If you find any unnatural behavior among your loved one
immediately bring to your family doctor's notice and he will be
answering any further questions. This will help the doctor to provide
the Asperger Syndrome person, from the early stage itself, the reading
material and treatment.
